Scuba Diving – Cancun Underwater Museum

Scuba Diving – Cancun Underwater Museum

One of the main reasons for picking Cancun in Mexico was to see the Cancun underwater museum. My friend really wanted to do this! We looked at both snorkeling and scuba diving at this site and decided on scuba diving. We were both excited to try scuba diving for the very first time. I was a bit nervous. My nervousness had merit. By nature I am a bit of a klutz so I was worried I might mess up following…

Tulum – Mexico

Tulum – Mexico

One of the places that we visited while at Mexico was Tulum. There are many Mayan sites near Cancun. We picked Tulum to visit since it is a Mayan site near the Ocean. Most other sites are in the middle of the jungles. Our Tulum tour included pickup from the hotel, visiting a cenote , a tour of Tulum with an Archaeologist guide, and visiting Playa Del Carmen. Tulum is well known site of a Mayan walled city. It is…

Xplor – Mexico – Cancun

Xplor – Mexico – Cancun

On our trip to Mexico we knew we wanted to do a few excursions.  I enjoy my southern all-inclusive breaks every few years, however the only way I can get through 7 days of an all-inclusive is if I can fit in some excursions! One such excursion was our trip to the Xplor ! Their website for reference: http://www.xplor.travel/ Someone had recommended this excursion to my friend, and I was so very glad we did this activity. Xplor  is recreational…

Mexico

I just came back from a week in Mexico ! Here are some of my thoughts on Mexico ! When planning a trip to Mexico there are many different cities that you can visit. I struggled with picking one. Some of the choices I considered were Cancun, Playa del Carmen , Cozumel – These three areas combined is known as the Mayan Riviera , and Los Cabos  . We settled on Cancun, because we wanted to scuba dive at the…

Iceland – Glacier Caves or Ice Caves

One of my reasons for visiting Iceland in the winter was to visit the beautiful Glacier Caves of Iceland. I had seen photos of the blue caves and had become fascinated. Visiting Iceland would solve two items I had really wanted to do. See the Northern Lights and Visit a Glacier Cave. I wrote a post on shelter/food and transportation in Iceland if you require some information the post is here . We had originally planned to visit the Glacier…

Iceland – Mode of transportation, Shelter and Food

I visited Iceland in 2015 with a group of friends. I wanted to visit Iceland in winter for two main reasons. One to see the Northern Lights, and the second to visit the Glacier Caves.  We were there for a week starting on February 24th 2015. I am from Canada and most of the flights to Iceland from Canada is directly to Reykjavik Airport, Iceland.  Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland and about two third of the population of Iceland…

California – Monterey Bay

California – Monterey Bay

I had bought the San Francisco City pass that includes the 7 day Muni pass. I really shouldn’t have, since I had a car and parking wasn’t an issue for me. I wrote a post about parking in SF. The City Pass included the option to visit the Aquarium at Monterey Bay. On the third day of my trip it was raining, so I decided to drive to Monterey Bay from San Jose. That drive took about an hour and…

San Francisco – Palace of Fine Arts, Victorian Homes, Stanford University and Alcatraz Cruise

Palace of Fine Arts This place is the only place I have seen in San Francisco that reminded me of the buildings in Europe. I wanted to go here because it looked pretty in the photos and I remembered it from the movie The Rock. One of my favorite movies. I made it here on my last day in San Francisco. It is near Crissy Field, and I was able to find free parking. It is a beautiful building. I…

San Francisco –Golden Gate Park

San Francisco –Golden Gate Park

I remember my visit to the Golden Gate Park with mixed feelings. The good – there is a lot to do at Golden Gate Park, and it is beautiful. The bad – someone broke into my parked car and stole a small bag. Let’s start with the good. The Golden Gate Park reminded me of Central Park in New York. I believe it was designed by the same person or the designer was inspired by Central Park. Similar to Central…

San Francisco – Twin Peaks

San Francisco – Twin Peaks

One of my favorite places in San Francisco is Twin Peaks. These are two large hills in the middle of the city. You can hike, drive or bicycle to the top of the peaks. I drove up and parked on the side near the top. Yay for free parking. Once you get out, you need to climb for about 5 or so minutes on man made stairs to reach the top. The view from the top is breath taking. You…
