Central Market ( Mercato Centrale ) – Best Market To Visit In Florence
On our first morning in Florence we went to Mercato Centrale. We were able to walk to it from our apartment.
Visiting a market in Florence is a must do ! This market was full of produce , cheese , wine and food stalls . Out side the market was vendors selling leather items .
We spend about 2 hours in the market . Started with coffee and croissant . It was delicious. Than we went on to purchase wines and olive oil . We wandered around exploring the different stalls . All the exploring made us tired so we had pasta and wine ! Again simple dishes and delicious.
Once we were done exploring inside we went outside to check out the leather vendors . It was interesting to note most of the leather vendors were Indian ! The products also didn’t look to be if the greatest quality. If you have your heart set on leather products, I would recommend doing your research ahead of time to identify genuine vendors .
We had a great time just wondering as window shopping. Highly recommend visiting Mercato Centrale!
