Historic Center Of Lima – City Of Kings
On one of our days in Lima we decided to visit the Historic Center Of Lima . We caught an Uber from our hotel in Miraflores to the Center . This entire area has been declared a UNESCO site due to the number of Spanish Colonial buildings in the area . The area was created around 1535 and was a major hub during Spanish colonization of South America. It was called The City Of Kings at that time .
We started at Plaza De Armas and wandered around . That is what we did . Some photos from our wandering.
Historic Center Of Lima – Plaza De Armas
Walking From Plaza De Armas To Church Of San Francisco
Church Of San Francisco
Second largest church in Lima . The birds that live in front of it flys in circles when triggered. An interesting site . The inside of this church is also beautiful red and white .
Parque De La Muralla
This is a park near the historic Center with some Inca Ruins .
Barrio Chino – Lima’s China Town
Lima’s China Town . Walking distance from the historic Center . It can get a bit overwhelming for tourists . Not very interesting and I wouldn’t eat here .
Overall you can spend between half a day to a full day touring Lima’s historic Center and the surrounding area . Very safe to explore . Just be aware of your surroundings.
