Ever since I came across a photo of Horseshoe Bend I had wanted to visit it !! It looked incredible in the photos.

This attraction was one of the reasons for us choosing Arizona for our road trip !

We stopped here as a first stop on our way to visit Antelope Canyon around 7 am .

Since we were here early morning there was a shadow that fell in our photos! Nevertheless, it didn’t take away from an incredible view !

Logistics

Horseshoe Bend is about 2 hours and 11 minute drive from Flagstaff, Arizona. It is about 10 minutes from Antelope Canyon. Best to combine both tours .

You can put “Horseshoe Bend ” on your GPS and it will take you to the parking lot of Horseshoe Bend .

We visited in April 2019 and were able to park in the parking lot for $10 after 7 am . It looks like the parking lot fills up latter in the day and when that happens you need to park further down and take a shuttle to the main parking lot .

To get to bend you need to hike up about 25 minutes . Take water it gets hot !

Finally the bend ! Years of anticipation. This is a very scenic bend in the Colorado River ! I was so excited to see it . Despite the morning shadow I thought it was a very unique sight ! My spouse didn’t seem to think so but hey to each their own !

Once you are done viewing you have to walk back to the parking lot ! About 2.4 km round trip .

Overall definitely worth a stop on your Arizona Tours .
