Penha Longa Resort – Sintra Ritz Carleton Review
We love staying at beautiful properties – it is one of our favourite things to do ! Because of this we decided to stay two nights in Sintra at the Penha Longa Resort – a Ritz Carleton Property.
Property Highlights:
- This property is located in the middle of a park ( very green )
- Has some medieval buildings on site including a 14 th century monastery
- Home to 9 restaurants- three of which has Michelin stars
- Has a massive golf course on site
- Two stunning pools
- Short affordable uber ride to town and other sites such as Peña Palace
The Room
The room was decorated in traditional Ritz decor . Dark woods and marble. Bed was comfortable. We had a balcony with the poolside view . The bathroom had a bath tub . Overall a functional room . The room can use an upgrade .
The On Site Restaurants
One of the biggest differentiators of this Ritz property is the number of Michelin star restaurants on site . In total they have 8 restaurants with 3 having a Michelin star !
Breakfast – Penha Longa Mercatto
Daily breakfast was at Penha Longa Mercatto . There were a variety of items to order . We had breakfast here two days . I even had avocado toast one day and it was delicious! Highly recommend the breakfast here .
Lunch – Arola
We had a late lunch here one day . Laid back atmosphere and good delicious food . Great option for guests staying at the hotel .
Dinner – Spices
We had dinner at Spices . We couldn’t get reservation to any of the Michelin star places the nights we were there . Truly enjoyed the variety of options at Spices .
Overall
We were at the resort for two nights and about two days . We got in late on the first day and spend the second day at Peña Palace and Moores Castle.
We didn’t spend a lot of time exploring the resort itself . We didn’t use the pool or Spa . We did do a short walk. .
The service was okay . Overall it is a good option for Sintra – especially if you want yo unwind and relax .
