Drive from Porto to Pinhao in Douro valley
Douro valley is one of the oldest wine regions in the world . It is well known for its production of Port and terraced vineyards.
There are multiple towns in Douro – the one we visited was called Pinhao – located in the middle of multiple terraced vineyards right by the river . It’s considered to be one of the more picturesque towns .
We started our drive in the morning from Porto and it rained the entire way – the drive is about an hour and fifteen minutes . The roads are paved and it is a comfortable drive . We visited this region in October- out of season for the region. As a result we encountered no traffic and it was an enjoyable drive . Videos of the drive .
We stopped in between to get breakfast on the way . Again it was raining .
