For most people Portugal conquers up visions of colourful tiles – especially the blue and white ones . This is what we expected to see in Lisbon- once we got to Portugal I found Porto had more of the blue and white tiles !

Here are a few places in Porto for the blue and white tiles ( Also called Azulejos ) :

1. Capela das Almas – This is a church covered in blue tiles ( exterior) . My favourite blue tile building. This is also near lots of stores ( great if you are shopping ) .

2. São Bento Station – This is an active rail station and when you enter the entire station is covered in blue tiles capturing Portugal history .

3. Igreja do Carmo– This is another church covered in blue tiles . Definitely worth a stop

4. Santo Ildefonso Church – Another church covered in blue tiles .

We found it was easy to walk around and see all the sites with blue tiles . There are probably a lot more but these four are the ones we saw based on our research .
