Puducherry also known as Pondicherry
We had an evening and an night in Pondicherry . This was our stop between Kanchipuram and the temples of Kupakonam . We dropped our luggage off and caught an auto to go to the seaside .
Pondicherry Sea Side
There was a really nice boardwalk by the sea . The architecture surrounding it was very reminding of Charleston / New Orleans – an indication of the French History of the area . We did a walk – stopped by some overpriced botiques . Didn’t buy anything . They were definitely more white ppl in this area compared to the rest of South India we visited !
We tried to see if we can find a place for dinner , unfortunately the few places we tried were all booked up . We caught an auto back to our hotel , had the buffet at our hotel and settled in for the night .
Overall
The city definitely had a charming vibe . We didn’t get to visit many sites . Don’t mind visiting the next time we are in the area . Definitely add a day or two in this town if you are touring South India .
