We visited Kapaleeshwarar Temple on our first day in India. This is a lord Shive temple built by the Pallava Dynasty in the 7 th century. Our Uber dropped us off near the front entrance. We left our shoes in the front of the temple and went in .
The temples’s entrances are usually lined with people who ask you for money . I usually avoid eye contact and go in . If you give money to one person more people will come .
Once we went in it was very peaceful. We walked , prayed and stood in line to get blessings. It was a very enlightening experience.
The temple was built in the 7 th century. Most of the temples in South India will leave you in awe . They are magnificent constructions that have stood the test of time . Massive sophisticated structures in the middle of rudimentary buildings from recent times .
