Until we decided to visit Amalfi Coast I didn’t quite understand the region . Amalfi Coast is a coastal area in Italy with different towns along the way . Many of the towns are cliff side with downhill walk to the beach !

The prettiest town along the coast is Positano. You can read all about it in this post and this one .

The town of Amalfi is less scenic than Positano however it has its own beauty to it . We spend a few hours in Amalfi . It used to be a major maritime town till a tsunami wiped out a large part of the town in the 13 th century .

Activities you can do in the town are similar to that of Positano . Enjoy the beach , food and it has some beautiful historical sites. One is the 11 th century church in its main square . The town is small. When you get off the bus , car ferry you can see the beach the town square etc .

Definitely worth stopping on your Amalfi Coast visit .
