Our top dining experience in Rome was at Roscioli! We found this place based on Anthony Bourdain’s recommendation and reserved two seats at the bar .

Roscioli- started out as a bakery in 1872 and exists today as a deli, restaurant and grocery store ! Owned by a set of brothers they are all about fresh quality food .

We started with Burrata and anchovies . Which was beyond delicious! Followed by Mozzarella and prosciutto. This was the best Prosciutto and Mozzarella we had in all of Italy ! This is what they are famous for . I would be just happy ordering these two dishes and a bottle of wine. The freshly baked bread was a great side to these dishes .

We followed this course with Pasta and a meat dish . These were okay . If you are watching what you are spending I would recommend just order the cheese and meat course with a bottle of wine and bread !

Desert was also okay . They give you complimentary donuts .

Overall I would go back just for the first course . It was so delicious that I would still rank this restaurant our top pick in Rome ! We have decided to make this a consistent stop anytime are in Rome . The one place you must try in Rome .
