Italians aren’t very big on breakfast. Typically it is a coffee based drink and a sweet or savoury pastry . They also drink/eat this standing up .

Since I had read this ahead of time we followed a similar model . Most of our breakfast was at various cafes .

Best Find – Sant’ Eustachio Il Caffè

Our very first morning on our way to Colosseum we discovered . There was a crowd in front of it . Inside there was a large number of branded items and good smelling coffee . Which made me realize this was a famous cafe !

The coffee was excellent and we visited here whenever we were in the area . Definitely my recommendation for breakfast/coffee in Rome .

Obica

One day we were craving a North American breakfast and decided to give the chain Obica a try . We definitely regretted it . The food was okay but not worth it to be a choice in Rome .

Random Local Cafe

The day we visited the Vatican we stopped by a local cafe for coffee and pastry . Food was decent.

Overall Rome was amazing for coffee and pastry. If I go back I would have all my breakfast at Sant’ Eustachio Il Caffe!
