Ethiopian Restaurants On Danforth
In the last year I was introduced to Ethiopian Food and boy was I surprised!
To me Ethiopian Food is very much like Tamil Food . The main carb with the meal is Injera – a sourdough flatbread made from fermented teff flour . This very much reminds me of dosai in Tamil cuisine . You are served multiple veggie and meat curries on top of a large Injera . The curries are also quite similar to Tamil curries in texture and flavour !
I totally fell in love with the food after having it for the first time . I been meaning to take my mom there for the ultimate confirmation on the similarities but didn’t have a chance to yet !
Here are my favourite Ethiopian Restaurants- They are all located on Danforth !
I visited this restaurant recently and had a wonderful experience. It’s beautifully decorated and the food excellent.
We had the Lalibela special which included both meat and veggie curries with Injera. This chicken curry was really good .
We also tried Tej – Ethiopian honey wine . I wasn’t a fan of the honey wine but the food was excellent.
Highly recommend this place!
Rendez Vous Ethiopian Restaurant
This is another really good Ethiopian restaurant on Danforth. This was the first ever Ethiopian restaurant I visited and the food was excellent that I became a fan of Ethiopian cuisine!
This is another excellent choice for Ethiopian restaurant on Danforth. It’s at this restaurant that I tried Ethiopian coffee for the very first time . It normally comes with popcorn. The coffee was excellent. Try their coffee ceremony.
Overall all the Ethiopian places I have tried have been excellent choices . Looking forward to discovering more .
