Tegalalang Rice Fields Bali
One of the more famous attraction in Bali is it’s rice fields . The rice fields are designed in a step like architecture for irrigation purposes. It makes for stunning scenic views !
The one that was close to Ubud was Tegalalang so we had our driver drive us there . We went in late afternoon and it was not too crowded . There is an entrance fee . There are many steps there for going down and going up . You must be open to climbing the steps in the heat .
I have read locals will ask you for donations but I didn’t go that far enough or didn’t encounter such a scenario.
Once you finish exploring, do drop by one of the restaurants with a view , or try a swing or a nest . The souvenir stores near by also had decent selection.
Overall a very unique experience. If you can try to visit early . Between 6 to 8 am to avoid the crowds and heat . We were hoping to go early but couldn’t. Late afternoon was okay in terms of crowd but the heat was still unbearable after climbing for some time . A refreshing coconut in one of the restaurants afterwards was very much needed .
Definitely a must do in Ubud and Bali !
