Tirta Empul means holy water spring . This temple is built with ponds and bathing area with water sourced from a nearby mountain spring . It was built around 960 AD .

You can get a Grab ( uber ) from Ubud . Best value would be to combine multiple attractions and get a driver for the entire day .

People come here to bath in the bathing pools to wash away their sins . There is an entrance fee . Like many other temples you need a sarong to get into the temple .

Explore the surrounding area and the temple first and just before you leave you can go into the bathing pool . You don’t need multiple sarongs . You need to be fully clothed to go into the bathing pool . Once you are done bathing you can go outside of the temple and change .

It is a very spiritual experience and I highly recommend it . This is my favourite temple in all of Bali!
