Fabric Shopping In Bali – Jalan Sulawesi Denpasar
My mom loves to sew and when I told her I was visiting Bali she asked me to get her sewing fabric from Bali .
I talked to a few locals from our resort and our taxi drivers and discovered Jalan Sulawesi Street in Denpasar.
This street is filled with fabric stores selling all kind of fabrics.
As you go to the stores there are middle man/women that will follow you and try to help you . Avoid them . You can decline their help politely but firmly.
We went to many stores and bought batik fabric from one store . It was $4 per meter . Which I thought was kind of expensive. I also bought two silk scarfs . They were $20 each . Overall i didn’t feel that I got a really good deal or the quality of the fabrics to be great .
I don’t think I would go back here unless I am with my mom . Would recommend that you only visit here if you are familiar with fabrics and you are good at haggling.
