Panama Canal
I visited the Panama Canal at the Miraflores locks when it opened at 8 am on a Sunday. I was there by 8.30 am and was really sad to discover I just missed 3 ships that passed through the locks. The next ship set to pass through was at 1 pm . I had other places to visit so I looked around , visited the interactive museum and watched a movie about the canal before leaving.
MUST DO : Call ahead and check when the ships will pass through before visiting. Make sure to get there at least an hour early to get a spot on the top viewing platform for photos.
The interactive museum is about four floors and definitely worth the time .
The movie you can skip if you are short on time .
There is a cafe and a restaurant on site . So you can get your morning coffee there .
People visit the Canal at the locks to see how the ships pass through the locks . It is an engineering marvel .
It cost 15 US dollar per person for non residents. Experience is worth the cost .
