Central Park New York
I have been to New York over eight times . Many of these times were for work but even on those trips, I get a chance to do some activities after hours .
I have been to Central Park about four times . Once it was during a snow storm so didn’t get very far, another time it was during a rain storm so it wasn’t as enjoyable.
The two times that it was decent weather, I had a good time visiting Central Park . You need at least a full day and a lot of energy to explore it throughly . I have explored various pieces during my multiple visits . Some thoughts from those visits .
The park has two major fountains . The friends fountain and another large fountain with lotus flowers planted in the fountain. Both are highlights of the park . If you don’t have much time I would recommend visiting both foundations.
The park also has a multiple bodies of water and bridges . Do mark those and visit the bodies of water . The walk along some of these shorelines are stunning. The bridges are charming. I once saw a couple get married on one of the bridges .
It has many wooded areas designed for walking and biking. Perfect activity for a warm spring day !
This time around I even saw a castle like structure which I thought was pretty cool .
There is a stage area where I would imagine concerts would be held in summer. I have not come across any .
A lot of times there are vendors selling various items lining a walk path in one side of the park . It’s always a fun experience to browse the items they have for sale.
The park also has a zoo – for people with kids or for those that likes zoos . The MET is also located by one side of the park .
Half of the park I have not explored . Looking forward to it in the next 8 visits !
