I recently bought Amazon Echo ! I am based out of a Toronto, Canada. I could not find Amazon Alexa App on the Canadian App Store ! You need that app in order to setup Alexa.

I searched the internet on how do I go about switching to the US App store so that I can download Alexa and complete my Amazon Echo setup ! Most of the articles I found on the internet was outdated ( the steps described no longer worked ! ) or the articles assumed you had a valid US payment mechanism.

I did not have a US credit card nor a Paypal account that was tied to a US credit or debit card. You can not use a Paypal account that is not tied to a US credit/debit card. It was very frustrating !

I finally found an article with steps that helped me switch to the US App Store !!

Follow the steps outlined in this post  and you should be able to switch !

I was super happy when it finally worked !
