Jamaica – Ocho Rios
When we decided to go to Jamaica I did a lot research to figure out where to stay in Jamaica. I picked Ocho Rios for two reasons, the beaches and its close proximity to Dunn’s River. Ocho Rios is a town on the Northern Side of Jamaica and it is not as crowded as Montego Bay and is known for its beaches. If you are looking for a relaxing town in Jamaica – highly recommend Ocho Rios. I will let the photos below speak for the beauty of the town !
We stayed at the Riu Hotel in Ocho Rios. It was a beautiful resort, good value for the money, good food and had a great beach ! This was my firs tall inclusive resort and I loved ! The Riu had multiple restaurant options, their main buffets were good, the coffee was incredible , they had a cart at the beach which served good food, and the snack option they had in between meal times were also good. The resort had two pools – I found the pool to be small but didn’t matter much to me since I spend most of my time at the beach ! One of the options I liked about the Riu is they taught you to Sail from the resort ground itself , and it was also easy to arrange a snorkeling trip through the resort. Reasonably priced and enjoyed the excursions. The hotel grounds were beautiful , the beach was incredible ( there were sea weed in some areas but hey its a beach ! ) . One of the things I really liked about the beach is that it had palm trees ! So we always had shade and the beach was located right off the resort ( not much of a walk to get to the beach ). The night shows were okay – I am not much of a show person. Overall I would definitely go back to the resort ! Some photos below of the resort and the surrounding area.
